Responsible for revenue and profit generation together with the sales team (Key account/sales rep) with focus on meeting or exceeding sales and corporate objectives. The role is field based and has the responsibility for targeting opportunities at Pharma, Biotech, Academic and business relevant organizations for the sale of research products, including cell biology, cell assays, transfection, and custom products and services, as well as potential future products. Accountable for driving sales, directly and indirectly, by actively selling to existing and newly targeted opportunities within a designated region / territory. Key objectives include: direct sales of research catalog products and instrumentation and custom products and services, moving revenue opportunities forward, penetration of competitor accounts, product application, positioning and marketing. Provides technical field support for Bioscience portfolio of research products, instrumentation and services. Gathers and communicates information on market trends and regulatory changes and new applications as well as competitor activities. Achieves assigned sales targets for research products and services by gaining in-depth product knowledge, regulatory concerns and understanding of served markets Works in close conjunction with assigned region’s / territory’s Global Key Account Managers and Sales Specialists for qualifying, demoing, quoting and closing of research products and services. Job Description Achieves top line growth targets for the assigned area of responsibility and ensures product margins are aligned with divisional guidance and objectives. Manages existing accounts as well as develops future business opportunities with new contacts and customers. Target accounts for conversion and sale of catalog, custom research products and services. Prospects and identifies opportunities and assesses sales potential in order to achieve assigned regional / territorial sales targets. Proposes alpha / beta test sites for evaluations of “new” products in targeted markets and actively supports those selected by agreement with the Product Managers. Develops value proposition models and manages the sales process for catalog and custom research products and services, within assigned region / territory, in conjunction with the Global Key Account Managers and Sales Specialists. Qualifies, demos, quotes and closes on sales opportunities in alignment with local sales specialist. Assists and guides the launch of new products into targeted market. Collaborates with both marketing and R&D to assure existing and new products meet customers’ needs and expectations. Provides input and feedback for the development of new products. May be assigned special projects associated with late stage new product completion and launch. Organize, plan and schedule the use of time to provide optimum and effective account and regional coverage. Takes leading role in providing customer with technical assistance in selecting and effectively using products in conjunction with scientific support. This may include troubleshooting visits on site with the customer, or organizing and running targeted seminars and customer training courses. Fully develops product knowledge capabilities, applications, regulatory knowledge and product justification in order to be recognized as an expert in the field. Takes part in technical and sales training. Maintains control of assigned demo inventory for the territory. Collects and forwards to management/marketing/scientific support market information including competitive promotions, pricing, new products, new applications, regulatory changes and customer needs. Attends relevant regional, national and international conferences, seminars and workgroups to enhance and grow market knowledge, regulatory awareness, competitor activity, customer needs and networking. Prepares and submits to management timely and accurate reports that provide information regarding forecasts, sales and market activity and current status of major accounts. Maintains CRM database on a daily basis aligned with divisional KPI's. Follow up and process all leads received in the timeframe required. Ensures open opportunities are followed and transferred to success.
